MPIO MG100 4G mp3 player problems?

I got a MPIO MG100 4G mp3 player last week. If you also have this mp3 player, you should know it is somewhat problematics.

Some people complain that the battery is not charging or after installing firm ware, the storage became 2 G.

I have read some many posts in the MPIIO Support forum. However, no moderators come up and answer the questions. The support is, ai~~

Let me make a summary, so that if you encounter similar problem with your mg100, you won't be hopeless.

Charging is not working?

so, you connect the mp3 player to computer using the usb cable, and it keeps flashing. Even after 3 hours, there is no sign of charging completed?

In fact, it is charging. Just that, the mp3 player never tells you it is completed or not. And the mp3 player never tells you how much battery life is let. Bad design er?

So, when you are charging, the 3-cell animation is repeating again and again. Even the charging is completed.

Normally, if you charge the mp3 player for 2 hours, it is good and it would last for 8 hours of uage.

Firm ware makes the storage to 2 G?

Some people installed a latest firm ware and notice that the size of the storage becomes 2G.

My suggestion is not to install any update. The one comes with your map player is good for now. (v. 1.0.5)

However,  my friend got it work after he updated his firmware. He said there is 2 G of storage is not formated yet after you update thefirmware. So you need to check it carefully, and format that 2G manually.

Good thing About  MPIO MG100 4G mp3 player

The sound effect/quality is amzing good. Some people say it is as good as the sound quality of ipod.

The design is slim and stylish. I really the external design. (but not the internal tho, the firmware and UI is not that good.)

Boxing Day Shopping Madness

Oh Gosh, I bought so many things today. And most of them are really great deals.

I didn't go shopping on boxing day in the past 2 years, because I had work. This year, I was supposed to have work on boxing day too, but I took a day off. I now realized that it was a right decision.

I went to futureshop at around 6:30. When I got there, there were lots of people inside already. What did buy?

1. Five Kingston 4GB DataTraveler Pocket USB Drive
It was a great deal since regular price for the flash drive was 79 Cad, but now it was only 26.99 CAD. I saved more than 50 dollar for each. I bought one for myself, and 4 for my friends.I don't think it is the cheapest price for a 4g usb flash drive in the market, but it is very cheap already.

2. One Samsung All-In-1 Multifunction Laser Printer
I bought this printer for my uncle. It was 198 Cad. But today, it was only 99 Cad. I was glad I could grap one of them before they were sold out.

3. One Rocketfish 2.0 Amplified Speaker System
It was only 29.99 Cad, I saved 50 dollar. I am already using this speaker system in my computer. The sound quality is great. Cheap price, great buy.

I also bought a Bluetooth adapter, headphone, printer papers.

I had a great boxing day this year. But when I look into my wallet now. I am not that happy.

I am broke now. Haha.

Santa's top tech toys
What do you get for the person on your holiday list who’s hard to buy for? How about a cow duck? Or a ticket to ride? Or zillions of games?

Those are some of the suggestions from Toby Donaldson, a computing scientist at Simon Fraser University’s Surrey campus who helps Santa shop for toys for thinkers every year. Here’s Toby’s list of no-fail hits for 2007:

Stonehenge

Billed as an anthology board game, Stonehenge comes with instructions for five games all using the high-quality pieces in the box. What sets this apart from other games is that you are encouraged to design your own games using the pieces, and to post it on the Stonehenge website. paizo.com/titanicGames/library

Sumsy Blog is in action !

Yet another new blog. I don't know how many blogs I have set up but deleted before this one. I always tell my self that I should be consistent: once you start a blog, you should stick with it. I tried, but just couldn't make it.

However, it is not always my fault. This time, the reason why I start a new blog is because I've found a better CMS - Joomla. It is so attractive so that I can't wait to try it out. Joomla, in my opinion, it is better than Word Press. It has more fantastic themes, and plugins, even paid themes and paid plugins. You can personalize you blog in a fly: add module, move module positions, set how to show articles... and many many, these all can be done via admin panel. No need coding knowledege.

What I will write on this blog? Keep your eyes on it.
